Daniel Thrasher Meet & Greet!

We met YouTuber (3.5 mil+) and comedy musician Daniel Thrasher! We heard from him about his journey on becoming a pianist and content creator, and asked him questions about making videos. He also gave great advice for music students and showed us how he comes up with impromptu songs on the spot!

Do Re Mi's MD Volunteers performed a free concert for residents at Sunrise Columbia! Works featured Paganini, Piazzolla, Handel, Horovitz, and Bach. We also got bubble tea afterwards!

Panelists Amy Hwang, Stan Lee, Miyabi Henriksen, and Nicholas Suarez discussed their college/conservatory application process and provided Do Re Mi HS tutors with valuable tips. They talked through pursuing meaningful extracurriculars, coming up with a "college list," and not procrastinating on writing essays.

Violinist Karla Donehew Pérez of the Catalyst Quartet gave tutors advice on relaxing the violin form, using gravity and weight for the bow, and improving intonation! In addition to maintaining a busy performance schedule, Ms. Donehew Perez is a faculty member at Bard College and the Sphinx Performance Academy.
